Need a Submersible Utility Pump?
Whenever we receive heavy rain forecast, and the ground is already saturated, there’s once again the chance of getting water in your basement. Having a submersible utility pump on hand can be a life safer.
Here’s a list of things you can do to help prevent needing a utility pump:
1. Make sure your gutters are free of debris… especially where the downspout is connected to the horizontal gutters.
2. Extend downspouts out away from the house. 4″ PVC thinwall pipe or another downspout are excellent choices for this. Getting the downspouts extended a recommended 10′ from the house will help get the rain water away from the foundation where it could potentially seep through the foundation and into the basement.
3. Make sure the grading around your home is sloped away the from the foundation (2%-5% is recommended).
If all else fails, we stock Shop-vacs, sump pumps, puddle sucker pumps and hoses if the water gets in the basement
