Small, useful and anything but a toy! The Cobra® XS is a new, compact member of the KNIPEX Cobra® family. It is a fully functional pair of high-tech water pump pliers that really comes into its own in tight spaces. With fine adjustment directly on the workpiece, this tool provides eleven adjustment positions and can grip nuts up to 24 mm in diameter and other workpieces as large as 28 mm – at an overall length of only 100 millimetres. Owing to its compact size, the Cobra® XS can be easily used with only one hand. Like all products in the KNIPEX Cobra® family, the Cobra® XS is of course self-locking on pipes and nuts: The result is no slipping at the workpiece and operations such as gripping, holding, pressing and bending are considerably less strenuous.

The Mini Cobra shows its strengths when a component is too small, too dirty or too hot for you to hold it by your fingers. Due to its small size, it can get difficult-to-reach components, and grips without slipping. To achieve a lasting secure “bite” on the work component, we use high-frequency current to bring the gripping teeth to a hardness of approx. 61 HRC. Thanks to the 13-fold fine adjustment, the Cobra can be ideally adjusted to different sizes of component.

The Knipex 87 01 180 Cobra with a length of 180 mm is one of the medium-sized models of Cobra water pump pliers from Knipex. The benefits of working with these water pump pliers are plain to see. They are compact, light and stable, can be positioned on the component quickly and are self-locking, e.g. on pipes and nuts.

Due to its compact size, it is particularly suitable for work in confined spaces. Despite this, it achieves a gripping capacity for pipes with a diameter of up to 1 ½ inches or 42 mm and for nuts up to a wrench opening of 36 mm.

The Knipex 87 01 300 Cobra with a length of 300 mm is one of the bigger models of water pump pliers from the Knipex Cobra range. With good torque and a grip width of up to 70 mm, they are particularly good for professional users for whom the capacity of the classic 250 mm long Cobra is not sufficient. The benefits of working with these water pump pliers are plain to see: they can be positioned on the component quickly and are self-locking, e.g. on pipes and nuts. With its plastic-coated handles, the Knipex Cobra 87 01 300 sits firmly in the hand. It is ideal for use on pipes up to a diameter of 2 ¾ inches or 70 mm and for nuts with a wrench opening of up to 60 mm.

The KNIPEX pliers wrench, combining pliers and a wrench, is a real all-rounder and a vital part of any tool case. It replaces an entire set of wrenches, both metric and imperial. The new model with a length of 300 mm weighs around 80 g less than the previous model. Continuous gripping of widths across flats up to 68 mm (maximum 2 1/2″). Two practical laser-cut scales help to adjust the pliers wrench to the required width across flats (front metric, rear imperial) in advance. The gripping jaws can be adjusted quickly, reliably and conveniently using a push button. Thanks to smooth, parallel jaws, screw connections with sensitive surfaces, such as fittings, can also be screwed gently into place – all without any damage. In addition, the pliers wrench does not have to be removed when loosening or tightening nuts: The action of the gripping jaws permits screwing according to the ratchet principle.

Full torque on pipes and nuts thanks to self-locking effect

After it is pressed, the Knipex Alligator No. 88 01 180 holds onto pipes and nuts by itself. This self-locking effect is possible thanks to the special jaw geometry developed by Knipex. The user does not need to press the handles together, but can convert all energy directly into torque. This property pays off in particular when loosening bolted connections that have become stuck.

Compact design – big gripping capacity

Work in the plumbing and heating area is often conducted in confined spaces. The arched adjustment slot and the slim head shape of the Knipex Alligator offer an advantage here. As compact as these pliers are, the possible grip widths are surprisingly large due to the 9-step locking adjustment: pipes up to 42 mm (1 ½ inches) and nuts up to 36 mm, which is 30 % more than with standard water pump pliers of the same size.

The wrench combines many functions: It replaces metric as imperial a whole set of spanners, can be adjusted very quickly and directly at the work piece at the touch of a button and continuously packs all gripping widths up to 40 mm or 1 1/2 inch.
